Secondary English Teacher

About the role

The Secondary English Teacher will join a SABIS® school in the United Arab Emirates, delivering the SABIS® curriculum to secondary‑level students. The role focuses on fostering academic success, encouraging personal growth, and maintaining a disciplined, supportive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach English classes using provided lesson plans and, when required, develop plans aligned with SABIS® pacing charts.
• Mark examinations and assessments according to departmental schedules.
• Collaborate with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department on disciplinary and performance matters.
• Implement the SABIS® Point System to promote a positive learning atmosphere.
• Proctor exams, ensuring a secure and well‑managed testing environment.
• Provide targeted support and motivation to low‑performing students.
• Assist with external exam preparation and revision schedules.
• Perform additional duties such as substitute teaching, student supervision, traffic control, and administrative tasks as assigned.
• Participate in student life activities, coordinating with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions to deepen understanding of the SABIS® system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Proficiency in English.
• Professional behavior, ethical conduct, and accountability.
• Strong communication abilities and a commitment to continuous learning.
