Senior Accountant

About the role

The Accountant owns the books of the Qatar entity and supports the Senior Finance Manager in delivering accurate financial reporting, statutory and tax compliance, and strong internal controls. The role covers the end‑to‑end accounting cycle, including trial balance, journal entries, month‑end close, GL reviews and balance‑sheet reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the books of the Qatar entity and ensure accuracy, completeness and integrity of the general ledger and trial balance.
• Post journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments, provisions and other closing adjustments and review GL postings for correct accounts, cost centres and periods.
• Complete month‑end close within Group reporting timelines, ensuring compliance with IFRS, Group accounting policies and internal controls.
• Prepare monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations for all accounts (bank, WIP, accruals, pre‑payments, provisions, intercompany) and clear reconciling items promptly.
• Review AP and AR sub‑ledger reconciliations, AR ageing and WIP balances, and assess provisioning requirements.
• Drive cash collection by monitoring AR ageing, following up overdue receivables, and reporting weekly collection metrics and DSO.
• Prepare WHT calculations, support filings and local content reporting, and provide schedules for tax filings and audits.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, CAPEX accounting and depreciation schedules, and support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CA, CPA or equivalent finance qualification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, including month‑end close and financial reporting.
