Senior Counsel – LNG Trading & Marketing

About the role

QatarEnergy is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support for its LNG trading and marketing activities. The role involves advising on complex agreements, overseeing contract administration, and managing claims and disputes across two key client groups.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft, and review all agreements related to physical LNG trading and marketing.
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Manage claims, disputes, and price review processes.
• Support QatarEnergy LNG Marketing and QatarEnergy Trading client groups.
• Liaise with regulators and government representatives on relevant matters.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in private practice or in‑house legal roles, with a substantial focus on LNG trading and marketing.
• Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with non‑lawyers.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Highly motivated, proactive, organized, and self‑disciplined.
