Senior Data Engineering Specialist

About the role

Ooredoo is looking for a Senior Specialist in Data Engineering to design, build and operate the core data platform that powers its AI and digital transformation initiatives. The role focuses on creating scalable, governed data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform and integrating legacy on‑premise sources such as Teradata, Informatica and Qlik into a unified cloud‑based data layer.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise real‑time analytical data stores and feature stores to support model training and deployment in DataIKU.
• Build robust ETL processes using Informatica, advanced SQL scripting and DataIKU to ingest, transform and enrich data.
• Collaborate with data scientists to translate analytical requirements into production‑ready data assets and reusable frameworks.
• Integrate curated datasets with reporting tools including SAP BusinessObjects and QlikSense.
• Implement data quality rules, metadata management and validation frameworks to ensure governance of critical datasets.
• Automate pipeline execution and monitoring to minimise manual intervention.
• Support performance tuning, workload management and optimisation of the enterprise data warehouse.
• Contribute to the definition of data engineering standards, coding guidelines and reusable components.
• Document end‑to‑end data flows and processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and operating large‑scale data platforms on Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong background in ETL development, data modelling and real‑time data processing.
• Experience working with data science teams and delivering data products for AI/ML workloads.
• Ability to ensure data quality, governance and documentation in a fast‑moving environment.
