Senior Design Manager (MEP)

About the role

The Senior Design Manager (MEP) leads the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design effort for large‑scale construction projects, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration with all other disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead MEP design from concept through detailed design and construction phases.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil and specialist consultants to produce clash‑free, fully integrated designs.
• Review and approve drawings, calculations, specifications and technical submittals.
• Act as the primary MEP liaison for consultants, clients and authorities, supporting design programs and milestone tracking.
• Provide technical guidance to MEP engineers, identify risks and propose solutions.
• Support constructability reviews and site coordination during construction.
• Assist in cost planning, budgeting and value‑engineering to deliver cost‑effective solutions.
• Maintain design quality, documentation and support commissioning and handover activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 10–15 years of MEP design experience in construction, consultancy or EPC projects.
• Proven track record managing medium to large commercial, residential, hospitality or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of GCC/Middle‑East codes and standards (preferred).
• Excellent leadership, communication in English and ability to work under pressure.
