Senior HSE Engineer

About the role

The Senior HSE Engineer supports the HSE Manager and Project Directors / Project Manager by helping projects implement the integrated management system and comply with local legal regulations. The role plans, implements, evaluates and analyzes HSE activities at site so that HSE targets and objectives are measured and achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HSE management systems, policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits, identify hazards, evaluate risks and recommend control measures.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams, contractors and stakeholders on HSE matters.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses and corrective action planning.
• Develop and deliver HSE training on safe work practices, emergency procedures and environmental responsibilities.
• Monitor HSE performance indicators, track trends and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, clients and external stakeholders on HSE matters.
• Prepare HSE reports, presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and mentor junior HSE staff.

Required profile

• Diploma in NEBOSH or Level 6 Diploma in OHS.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Certified Fire Safety / Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Accident investigation certification, scaffolding training, fire safety training and rigging training.

Required skills

• Knowledge of safety regulations, procedures and instructions, including Qatar and international safety standards.
• Knowledge of integrated management systems and current and proposed environmental regulations.
• Audit qualifications: ISO 45001, OHSMS and ISO 14001.
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
