Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide expert legal advice across all company activities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role supports the organization, its project owners, and affiliates on complex legal matters spanning Qatar and international jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise stakeholders, regulators, and contractors on legal issues in line with departmental guidelines and statutory requirements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including agreements with contractors, customers, consultants, suppliers, lenders, and other parties.
• Interpret laws, monitor ongoing litigation and arbitration, and manage relationships with external counsel.
• Prepare and submit legal correspondence to governmental authorities and maintain accurate records of all government documentation.
• Develop and maintain standard agreement templates, ensuring legal risks are identified and mitigated.
• Represent the Legal department on internal and external committees, contributing to the development of legal strategies.
• Support the Associate General Counsel, General Counsel, and Company Secretary with timely legal decisions and actions.

Required profile

• LLB, JD, or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution, or a bachelor’s degree with qualification to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a multinational, multicultural environment.
• Proven front‑line advisory experience handling complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
