Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Reporting

About the role

The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Reporting will lead the finance team in delivering accurate financial statements, budgeting and KPI reporting while ensuring compliance with statutory and accounting standards. This role provides strategic insights to senior leadership and drives continuous improvement across budgeting, forecasting and grant management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets and the executive summary for finance leadership.
• Guide internal stakeholders through the budgeting process, monitor budget variances and update forecasts throughout the year.
• Identify cost-optimization opportunities and advise leadership on budget adjustments.
• Direct monthly reconciliation against the budget and monitor revenue-cycle activities for improvement.
• Ensure all accounting transactions comply with US GAAP, review and approve reclassification entries, and manage month-end and year-end closing.
• Lead the preparation of financial statements, quarterly reports, grant management reports and research packages.
• Manage fiscal year-end and calendar year-end audit processes in collaboration with internal and external auditors.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, grant budgeting, expenditure tracking and fixed-asset accounting.
• Leverage automation to streamline reporting and maintain finance policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.
• 11-12 years of relevant experience, preferably in research, medical or educational institutions.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA-USA or equivalent are preferred.
