Senior Manager – Tax & Financial Controls

About the role

The Senior Manager – Tax & Financial Controls will report to the Head of Financial Controls and lead the bank’s tax compliance, internal financial reporting controls, and cost‑control initiatives. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate tax reporting, robust ICOFR processes, and effective coordination with auditors and tax authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly Withholding Tax statements and oversee the deduction process.
• Implement and monitor VAT controls, ensuring timely filing of VAT statements.
• Coordinate preparation of corporate yearly tax returns for the bank and its Qatar subsidiaries.
• Manage Country‑by‑Country Reporting (CBCR) and Transfer Pricing filings in collaboration with external advisors.
• Provide tax advice for new group structures and represent the bank in tax forums.
• Lead Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) activities, including consolidation controls and QFMA reviews.
• Act as liaison for external auditors on ICOFR and IT controls.
• Prepare cash‑flow statements, IFRS 16 lease notes, staff‑cost notes, and IFRS 9‑ECL provisions for standalone and consolidated financial statements.
• Lead the Cost Control Tower (CCT) committee and related reporting.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in tax compliance and financial controls within a banking or financial services environment.
• Proven ability to manage complex tax filings, interact with tax authorities, and coordinate external advisors.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as QFMA and OECD Pillar 2.
• Excellent analytical and coordination skills, with experience leading cross‑functional committees.
