Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead maintenance and engineering activities for mechanical packaged equipment and pumps at our offshore/onshore oil & gas facility in Doha, Qatar. The role involves technical evaluation, modification management, and spare‑part strategy to ensure equipment reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical specialist support for maintenance and engineering of mechanical packaged equipment and pumps.
• Analyse pump and energized mechanical equipment performance and condition.
• Evaluate and manage spare‑part stock replenishment for mechanical items.
• Develop and approve Requests for Modifications in line with procedures, specifications and company standards.
• Engineer, design and manage Class II modifications with a cost‑conscious, fit‑for‑duty approach.
• Serve as discipline focal point for input to Class I modification projects executed by Engineering & Construction.
• Develop and approve repair strategies and methods for mechanical equipment.
• Promote conditional‑based maintenance techniques and ensure preventive maintenance aligns with HSE requirements.
• Conduct risk analysis on safety and environmental critical elements and propose action plans with cost estimates.
• Provide technical support to offshore, NOC and other teams, and train Qatari colleagues.

Required profile

• Technical specialist in mechanical equipment maintenance, preferably in oil & gas.
• Experience with Class I and Class II modification engineering.
• Proven ability to develop repair strategies and conditional‑based maintenance programs.
• Strong competence in risk analysis and safety‑critical element management.
• Capability to transfer knowledge and train junior colleagues.
• Resident in Doha with availability for offshore trips and OEM workshop visits.
