Senior Metering Engineer

About the role

The Senior Metering Engineer ensures the integrity, accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance of metering systems throughout project development and start‑up phases. This role supports successful project delivery by aligning metering solutions with operational, contractual, and performance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive metering plans that meet industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
• Establish and maintain engineering specifications and standards for metering systems and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate metering systems into facility designs.
• Coordinate installation, calibration, commissioning, and testing to guarantee measurement accuracy and operational readiness.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and performance assessments to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Provide technical expertise on selection, integrity, reliability, and performance of metering equipment, working closely with vendors.
• Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, and support tender evaluations, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Interface with regulatory authorities, certification bodies, and specialist service providers to ensure code and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with operations and engineering teams to perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans focused on safety, reliability, and environmental performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation or electronics engineering.
• Minimum six years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, process plant, or power plant environments.
• At least four years dedicated to flow measurement and metering.
• Familiarity with ISO standards related to flow measurement.

Required skills

• Kelton flow calculation software.
• S600 flow computer applications.
• Flow measurement and metering techniques.
• Understanding of ISO standards on flow measurement.
