Senior Munitions Inspector

About the role

The Senior Munitions Inspector serves as the technical expert and advisor for the USAF Munitions Surveillance Program, managing inspector qualification, conducting surveillance inspections, and ensuring the serviceability and safety of the munitions stockpile.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the MSP in accordance with DAFMAN 21-201, including training, certification, and evaluation of all assigned Munitions Inspectors.
• Perform surveillance inspections of munitions and containers, recording results in the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS) and ensuring compliance with technical directives.
• Monitor inspector performance, identify negative trends, and advise the Munitions Superintendent on corrective actions.
• Conduct warehouse inventories, resolve serviceability discrepancies, and oversee inspection and certification of munitions brass, residue, and containers.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent with completed USAF Munitions Systems training (or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years experience with USAF Military Munitions (or equivalent) and at least 5 years supervisory experience in munitions activities.
• At least 2 years recent experience as a USAF Munitions Inspector (within the past 48 months).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US citizenship required).

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply and Technical Order systems.
• Intermediate knowledge of MIS applicable to PGM activities.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Operation of material handling equipment, forklifts, and electronic test equipment.
• Use of metal strapping equipment, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors, and power tools.
