Senior Planner - Data Centre

About the role

Turner & Townsend is recruiting a Senior Planner for its data centre team in Qatar. The role takes the lead on strategic commissions and high-profile projects within a business unit that works with clients across real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources.

Key responsibilities

• Implement project planning and scheduling strategy, plans and procedures, covering both company and contractor roles and expectations
• Review and monitor detailed Primavera P6 schedules (WBS, activities, relationships, constraints, resource loading) and carry out schedule analysis, forecasts and performance tracking (SPI, CPI, Earned Value)
• Integrate contract packages into the master plan schedule, review contractor schedules and recommend to the client
• Produce weekly and monthly progress reports for management and the client, and develop a project control procedure
• Verify contractor data, support management decisions with scheduling insights, and develop mitigation plans
• Assess contractor extension of time claims, prepare defence claim reports and recommend on EOT claims
• Analyse critical path and constraints, ensure financial periods are set and followed, and assess the impact of changes and change orders
• Prepare resourcing plans for project phases, identify peak numbers and recommend peak leveling
• Provide onsite progress measurement and verification of billing

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling
• Track record on hyperscale data centre construction projects from inception to completion
• Experience coordinating schedule performance data into a master schedule and delivering project status reports for large-scale projects
• Strong technical understanding of construction methods and contract terms, familiarity with PMI standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
