Senior Scientist – Antibody & Nanobody Platforms

About the role

QABY Biotech, a Doha‑based biotechnology company focused on neurodegenerative disease diagnostics and therapeutics, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to lead the development, optimisation and validation of its antibody, nanobody and immunoassay platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, perform, optimise and troubleshoot laboratory experiments related to antibody/nanobody platforms and α‑synuclein biology.
• Develop and validate high‑sensitivity immunoassays, including ELISA, MSD, multiplex platforms and seed amplification assays.
• Support characterisation of antibodies, nanobodies, protein aggregates and disease‑associated α‑synuclein species.
• Contribute to pre‑clinical research activities for antibody‑ and nanobody‑based therapeutic candidates.
• Analyse complex experimental datasets using appropriate statistical and analytical methods.
• Prepare clear scientific reports, presentations, protocols and documentation.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, SOPs and ensure safe laboratory practice.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external academic, clinical and industry partners.
• Drive continuous improvement of laboratory workflows, assay performance and platform technologies.

Required profile

• PhD, MSc or equivalent experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, neuroscience, biotechnology or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in assay development and validation, particularly immunoassays such as ELISA, MSD, multiplex or seed amplification assays.
• Strong hands‑on experience with molecular, cellular, biochemical or protein‑based techniques.
• Experience with antibody or nanobody discovery, engineering, screening, characterisation or biologics development.
