Senior Static Equipment Inspector

About the role

Bureau Veritas is hiring a Senior Static Equipment Inspector in Doha. The inspector inspects, evaluates and ensures the integrity, reliability and safety of static equipment such as pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, boilers and piping systems, in line with industry codes, standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect static equipment and assess its condition, identifying defects, corrosion, damage, wear and operational risks
• Perform visual inspections and coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) where required
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations such as API, ASME and client specifications
• Review engineering drawings, inspection records, maintenance histories and technical documentation
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of findings and recommendations
• Evaluate results and recommend corrective actions, repairs, replacements or preventive maintenance
• Work with maintenance, engineering and operations teams on integrity management strategies and participate in risk-based inspection (RBI) assessments
• Support shutdowns, turnarounds and commissioning, and comply with HSE requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• At least 10 years of experience in static equipment inspection in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power or industrial sectors
• Preferred certifications: API 510, API 570, API 653, ASME certification, NACE Corrosion certification, and relevant NDT certifications

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of pressure equipment inspection, corrosion mechanisms and integrity assessment
• Familiarity with API, ASME and other international codes and standards
• Inspection reporting and technical documentation
• Microsoft Office and inspection management software
