Senior Tax Associate – Qatar

About the role

We are seeking an experienced tax professional to join our tax services team in Qatar. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end client tax compliance and advisory work, interacting directly with clients from day one under the supervision of the engagement partner.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate income tax returns and monthly withholding tax statements via the Dhareeba portal, handling related GTA correspondence.
• Manage tax registrations, contract notifications, tax cards, and documentation for tax residency and treaty relief.
• Draft tax advisory memoranda on withholding tax, permanent establishment, double tax treaty applications, and cross‑border payments.
• Support objections, grievances and appeals before the GTA and tax committees, including document review and submission preparation.
• Conduct tax reviews of financial statements and general ledgers to identify exposures and necessary adjustments.
• Assist with transfer‑pricing documentation and intercompany transaction reviews.
• Maintain client compliance calendars and ensure all filing deadlines are met.
• Coach junior staff and review their work to ensure quality and accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or law.
• 3–6 years of taxation experience, preferably in a professional services firm or tax authority.
• Working knowledge of Qatar Income Tax Law No. 24 of 2018, its Executive Regulations and Dhareeba procedures.
• Ability to draft clear, well‑structured tax memoranda and client correspondence.
• Fluent Arabic and English (written and spoken) for client and authority interactions.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting records.
