Senior Well Intervention Engineer

About the role

The Senior Well Intervention Engineer is responsible for planning, designing and coordinating platform‑based well interventions to optimise production and injection in a safe, cost‑effective manner. The position is based at the NOC Well Intervention office in Doha with occasional site visits to the Al Shaheen field and logistics bases.

Key responsibilities

• Write and manage well‑intervention programmes, ensuring all relevant parties are informed and involved.
• Manage contracts linked to well‑intervention activities and oversee equipment mobilisation.
• Coordinate planning with Petroleum Engineering, Production, offshore supervisors and contractors.
• Monitor offshore reporting, including Non‑Productive Time (NPT), and assess operational risks using the ALARP principle.
• Capture lessons learned after each job and feed them into technical memos, reports and future programmes.
• Provide technical support to the CWI department and assist the Drilling department with tendering and procurement.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent with IWCF Level 4 certification.
• Minimum 15 years of oilfield experience, including at least 3 years offshore exposure.
• Extensive knowledge of well‑intervention equipment, workflows and work‑over/completion technologies.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills.
