Software Development Lead – Digital Twin

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Software Development Lead to drive the creation of a large‑scale Geospatial Digital Twin platform for a major infrastructure owner in the Middle East. You will work with an international team of experts to design, build, and operationalise a solution that combines geospatial data, real‑time IoT/SCADA feeds, asset information, and enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the GIS Development Lead and Project Manager to deliver all non‑Esri software components across discovery, design, proof‑of‑concept, implementation, and support phases.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs, microservices, and integration services that connect the Digital Twin platform to external systems and data sources.
• Lead the implementation and configuration of integration platforms, data services, and custom web applications within the Digital Twin ecosystem.
• Define and enforce coding standards, development guidelines, and best practices for the software team.
• Work with solution architects, data engineers, GIS specialists, and platform engineers to validate performance, scalability, security, and resilience requirements.
• Manage the software workstream during proof‑of‑concept activities, including build, configuration, testing, and validation of key use cases.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software development teams on complex, multi‑year infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate vendors, guide architectural decisions, and ensure delivery against time, budget, and quality targets.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and knowledge transfer.
