About the role
This full‑time, on‑site position in Doha, Qatar, supports healthcare professionals, emergency services and the public by providing evidence‑based guidance on poisoning incidents. The Specialist Poison Control will assess exposure histories, evaluate clinical risk and recommend appropriate treatment and monitoring plans.
Key responsibilities
- Answer poison‑related inquiries via phone, delivering calm and clear instructions.
- Collect detailed exposure information and document cases accurately.
- Assess clinical risk, interpret toxicology data and suggest interventions.
- Support toxicology case reviews and contribute to internal protocols and reference materials.
- Collaborate with clinical teams, participate in training drills and public‑health initiatives.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of toxicology guidelines and poisoning management.
Required profile
- Clinical background (medicine, pharmacy, nursing, toxicology or related health profession).
- Experience in emergency, critical or acute care settings preferred.
- Strong knowledge of toxicology principles, common poisons and chemical exposures.
- Excellent communication skills for high‑stress situations.
- Commitment to confidentiality, patient safety and ethical standards.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
