Static Mechanical Engineer – Plant Reliability

About the role

The Static Mechanical Engineer will provide high‑level technical expertise for static equipment and piping systems in a manufacturing facility. The role focuses on maximizing plant reliability, supporting major turnarounds, and ensuring compliance with international design codes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve design calculations, data sheets, drawings and specifications for pressure vessels, heat exchangers and tanks.
• Generate and review P&IDs, Piping Material Specifications and Material Take‑Offs according to ASME, ANSI and API standards.
• Develop plot plans, equipment layouts and 3D models; route critical process, utility and off‑site pipelines.
• Perform piping flexibility and stress analysis; manage changes through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
• Prepare technical deliverables for replacement projects, including scope of work, bid evaluations and vendor drawing reviews.
• Define technical scope for static equipment during turnarounds, develop inspection and repair procedures, and supervise field welding, PWHT and NDT activities.

• Inspection and repair procedures for high‑pressure equipment
• Field welding, post‑weld heat treatment (PWHT) and non‑destructive testing (NDT)
