Storekeeper – Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management

About the role

The Storekeeper is responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and accurate warehousing operations while maintaining inventory integrity. The role combines hands‑on material handling with clerical duties, including the safe management of chemicals and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming materials, verify documentation, and record discrepancies using inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Label chemicals with hazard placards, manage cylinder storage, and ensure shelf‑life compliance.
• Store items in appropriate bins or bays, affix correct labels, and update inventory transactions in the warehouse management system.
• Process material issue requests, confirm accuracy, and maintain up‑to‑date inventory control records.
• Maintain a clean and orderly storeroom, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Experience in a warehouse or store environment, preferably handling chemicals or hazardous materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with vendors, freight forwarders, and internal departments.

Required skills

• Use of inspection tools (caliper, micrometer).
• Familiarity with CAPS/MSDS online systems and safety data sheet documentation.
• Inventory management software proficiency.
• Hazard labeling and chemical safety handling.
• Basic forklift operation assistance.
