Street Lighting Engineer (Roads O&M)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Street Lighting Engineer to join our Roads Operations & Maintenance team in Doha. The role involves designing, installing, maintaining and optimizing street lighting across the city’s road network, ensuring safety, energy efficiency and compliance with municipal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of existing street lighting infrastructure to identify defects, inefficiencies and safety hazards.
• Analyse lighting performance data and propose improvements to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Coordinate with contractors and maintenance crews to execute installations, repairs and replacements on schedule.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings and documentation for projects using CAD and other design software.
• Troubleshoot electrical and technical issues in lighting systems and develop effective solutions.
• Monitor maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance and minimise downtime.
• Evaluate new lighting technologies, including LED systems, and recommend upgrades for sustainability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Collaborate with traffic safety and urban planning teams to align lighting designs with road safety objectives.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs and performance metrics.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and best practices in electrical and infrastructure engineering.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Experience in street lighting or related infrastructure engineering.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and other design software.
• Knowledge of LED lighting technologies.
