Sustainability Lead

About the role

The Sustainability Lead will drive NOC’s sustainability agenda across all operational and support areas, including rigs, vessels, on‑shore offices and overseas projects. Reporting to senior management, the role will engage managers from multiple functions to develop business cases, secure buy‑in and ensure alignment with Qatar’s stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of NOC’s materiality aspects and sustainability governance in line with internal and external stakeholder feedback.
• Develop and evaluate business cases to close gaps across relevant Sustainable Development Goals, including GHG, energy efficiency and waste management.
• Coordinate transversal project teams, conduct gap assessments, monitor performance and benchmark progress.
• Oversee sustainability monitoring, reporting and the preparation of corporate sustainability reports.
• Build a sustainability culture through awareness campaigns, training, volunteering programmes and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record in sustainability initiatives.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders, ministries and external partners.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Relevant sustainability certifications (e.g., GRI reporting, auditing).
