Swimming Coach – Academy Instructor

About the role

We are seeking a Swimming Coach to join our Academy team. The coach will deliver high‑quality group and private swimming lessons to children and adults of all abilities, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group swimming lessons for children and adults across all levels.
• Develop structured, progressive lesson plans aligned to a recognised learn‑to‑swim framework.
• Teach water safety, stroke development and swimming technique to a high standard.
• Monitor swimmer progress, provide constructive feedback and assess stage progression.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
• Ensure pool safety, supervise activities and enforce safety rules.
• Check teaching equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Promote the swim programme, support enrolment, retention and conversion of trials.
• Build strong relationships with members and parents to encourage participation and referrals.
• Uphold safeguarding policies for children and vulnerable adults at all times.

Required profile

• Ability to deliver structured, brand‑aligned swimming lessons for all ages and abilities.
• Strong commitment to pool safety, emergency procedures and safeguarding standards.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with members, parents and Academy staff.
• Capability to monitor progress, provide feedback and keep accurate lesson records.
