Trading Manager – Building Materials (Qatar)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven Trading Manager to launch and grow a full‑cycle building materials trading business in Qatar. This role covers everything from sourcing and supplier development to store setup, sales, and overall business development.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the trading business from scratch, defining the model, product portfolio, supplier network, store layout and sales strategy.
• Build and maintain a robust database of local and international manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and brands.
• Source competitive products from Qatar, GCC, China, India, Turkey, Europe and other markets.
• Manage the complete trading cycle: sourcing, negotiation, import, inventory, pricing, distribution and final sale.
• Open and operate the building‑materials store, handling product selection, stock planning, merchandising and pricing.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, credit terms, exclusivity and distributorship agreements.
• Develop pricing and margin strategies while ensuring profitability.
• Create sales channels targeting contractors, developers, construction firms, FM companies, retailers and walk‑in customers.
• Monitor inventory levels, market trends, competitor pricing and new product opportunities.
• Lead and expand the store, trading, sales and operations team as the business grows.
• Take responsibility for revenue, gross margin, stock turnover and overall business growth.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of the building‑materials trading sector, including hardware, tools, plumbing, electrical and sanitary products.
• Proven network of manufacturers, suppliers and distributors both inside and outside Qatar.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in product sourcing, pricing, import logistics and inventory management.
• Ability to develop and execute a full business model from the ground up.
