Tunnels Manager – Roads Operations & Maintenance

About the role

Egis is seeking an experienced Tunnels Manager to lead the operations and maintenance of road tunnels in Doha, Qatar. You will ensure the safety, efficiency and longevity of tunnel infrastructure while coordinating with government agencies and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies for road tunnels.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments, applying preventive measures.
• Manage and optimise tunnel systems, including ventilation, lighting, fire safety and traffic management.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Prepare and manage budgets for tunnel operations and maintenance projects.
• Implement quality‑control systems and report on performance, maintenance activities and safety metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electrical‑Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in tunnel operations and maintenance.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and risk management in tunnel environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
