About the role

Cipriani Restaurant Doha is hiring a skilled Waiter or Waitress through its partner Hosco. The role takes orders and delivers food and beverages to customers, and requires patience, a good personality and perseverance in a fast-paced environment. Duties may involve working in shifts and occasionally on weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and escort customers to their tables and present the menu, giving details on portions, ingredients and possible food allergies
• Prepare tables with linens, silverware and glasses, and inform guests about the day's specials
• Offer menu recommendations and up-sell additional products when appropriate
• Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS system, order slips or memory, and check customers' IDs for alcohol consumption
• Communicate orders to the kitchen, serve them and check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness
• Deliver checks, collect payments and carry dirty plates and glasses to the kitchen
• Maintain a tidy dining area and follow health department regulations
• Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, menu changes and reservation service specifications

Required profile

• Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
• High school diploma; food safety training is a plus
• Politeness, attentiveness and patience with customers, and strong communication with kitchen staff
• Ability to work in shifts and in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with a cash register and ordering system (e.g. Revel POS or Toast POS)
• Basic math skills
• Organizational and multitasking skills, active listening and team spirit
