Air Freight Pricing Specialist

About the role

The Air Freight Pricing Specialist is responsible for implementing the AFR pricing strategy, handling pricing enquiries, and ensuring competitive and accurate rate offerings across the air cargo network.

Key responsibilities

• Execute plans and processes to implement the AFR Pricing Strategy.
• Respond promptly to pricing enquiries, delivering competitive quotations.
• Monitor and update local tariffs in a timely manner.
• Develop and manage high‑priority RFQs, providing guidance and conducting launch calls.
• Prepare shipment documentation, support tender development, and ensure timely submission of required documents.
• Maintain databases that enable quick responses to network queries.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with customers and airline partners, participating in commercial negotiations.
• Prepare carrier performance reports and conduct performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve services and processes, securing cost‑effective pricing.
• Negotiate rates with airline suppliers while meeting service specifications and transit time targets.
• Stay informed on new solutions, services, trade lanes, and traffic developments.
• Provide guidance and direction to less experienced team members.
• Analyze and resolve operational issues, implementing best practices for pricing effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• More than 4 years of relevant experience in air freight pricing or related logistics functions.
• Experience managing or coaching up to two junior team members.
