Armament Training Instructor – Typhoon Aircraft

About the role

The Armament Training Instructor is responsible for planning, delivering and assessing both theoretical and practical training on Typhoon aircraft armament systems at the Qatar Typhoon Training Facility. The role supports the Squadron Training Cell and ensures trainees achieve required competencies in a safe, regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver the allocated armament course in line with the authorised syllabus and training schedule using the Training Management Information System (TMIS).
• Invigilate, mark examinations and assessments, and continuously evaluate trainee progress.
• Ensure trainees use appropriate PPE, follow safety procedures and complete equipment pre‑use checks before training.
• Maintain discipline during training sessions, report absences and manage training areas safely.
• Act as Course Coordinator, Subject Lead, and training aircraft/equipment coordinator as required.
• Identify and report course deficiencies, propose improvements and develop personal instructor competencies.

Required profile

• Level 3 or higher training qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award, Level 4 Certificate, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training).
• NVQ3/ONC level or equivalent in an aircraft maintenance discipline.
• Minimum five years of recent, in‑depth experience in aircraft maintenance and support, including direct involvement in training activities.
• Good understanding of the regulatory framework applicable to aviation training.
