Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant leads the daily financial operations of a luxury hotel, ensuring accurate ledger management and timely reporting. Reporting to the Controller, this role guarantees compliance with hospitality accounting standards and supports cash‑flow and budgeting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and preparation of monthly financial statements in line with USALI.
• Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, and General Cashiering to optimise working capital and daily cash flow.
• Prepare local tax filings (VAT, sales tax, corporate tax, payroll taxes) and ensure adherence to regional financial regulations and statutory audits.
• Enforce internal financial controls, monitor revenue capture, verify daily income audits, and highlight budget variances.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, review monthly payroll processing, and coordinate finance‑related queries with operational department heads.
