Custodian Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a Custodian Supervisor to lead our custodial team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety across assigned facilities. The role involves planning daily activities, overseeing staff performance, and supporting special events while maintaining compliance with environmental, safety and health directives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned in accordance with performance work statements and industry standards.
• Monitor and direct custodial and landscaping personnel, scheduling daily tasks and managing leave.
• Control inventory, transport supplies, and maintain adequate stock in utility closets and carts.
• Conduct routine inspections, evaluate employee work against established standards, and address any deficiencies.
• Perform hands‑on tasks such as moving furniture, sand removal, sweeping walkways, bathroom checks, floor waxing, and other cleanup activities.
• Maintain accurate records in the Computer Maintenance Management System (Maximo) for work orders, preventative inspections, and urgent requests.
• Develop reports on workloads, service requirements and employee performance.
• Provide training, counseling and mentorship to junior custodians.
• Assist with setup and logistics for special events.

Required profile

• High school diploma; vocational training in administrative sciences preferred; associate degree is a plus.
• Minimum eight years of custodial experience.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in a custodial or facilities environment.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance if required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to address customer concerns professionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Maximo (Computer Maintenance Management System).
