Design Engineer – Ground Improvement

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer specialized in ground improvement to develop cost‑effective, technically sound solutions for projects in Qatar. The role involves preparing calculations, drawings, and technical reports while ensuring compliance with international standards and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design calculations and engineering reports for ground improvement systems.
• Design techniques such as vibro compaction, vibro replacement, dynamic compaction, deep soil mixing, jet grouting, controlled modulus columns, and rigid inclusions.
• Review geotechnical investigation reports and recommend suitable solutions.
• Perform settlement, bearing capacity, slope stability, and liquefaction analyses.
• Produce design drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams throughout design development and execution.
• Provide technical support to construction teams and review contractor/shop drawings for compliance.
• Optimize designs for technical and commercial efficiency and assist in tender preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in designing ground improvement works.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical principles.
• Experience with international ground improvement contractors and familiarity with Middle East standards is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Settle3 or equivalent geotechnical design software.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office suite.
