Director of Legal Affairs – Telecom

About the role

We are seeking an experienced legal professional to lead our Legal Affairs function for a leading multinational telecommunications company operating in Qatar. The Director will provide strategic legal and regulatory guidance, oversee commercial contracts, and ensure compliance with data privacy, data protection, and intellectual property requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver legal and regulatory advice across all business units.
• Lead contract negotiations and draft commercial agreements.
• Review, manage, and update commercial contracts and related policies.
• Oversee compliance, governance, data‑privacy, and IP matters.
• Support internal stakeholders on legal risk and policy issues.
• Liaise with external legal partners and advisors.
• Lead and develop the internal legal support team.

Required profile

• Approximately 15+ years of legal experience.
• Strong background in telecom, technology, or other regulated industries.
• Proven expertise in contract negotiation and commercial drafting.
• Deep knowledge of data privacy, data protection, and intellectual property law.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership abilities.
• Experience in the GCC region is a plus.
