Drainage Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Drainage Engineer to join its Doha office, working on a variety of infrastructure projects that require innovative storm‑water solutions. The role offers the chance to design both conventional and smart drainage systems while developing leadership skills.

Key responsibilities

• Design storm‑water drainage systems independently for diverse projects.
• Develop and manage Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and water‑sensitive designs.
• Perform hydraulic and system design to meet site‑specific requirements.
• Conduct hydrologic modelling, calculations, drawings and report writing.
• Coordinate with CAD/BIM/3‑D modelling teams and support junior engineers.
• Supervise and review design outputs across all project stages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Hydrology or Water Engineering from a reputable university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, civil or water engineering, including storm‑water drainage design and catchment analysis.
• Professional engineering qualification (Chartered Engineer or progress towards it) is desirable.
• Experience with water‑sensitive design and Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS).

Required skills

• Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software: SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS.
• GIS and CAD tools: ArcMap, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation.
• Strong mathematical ability for calculation sheets and design verification.
• Knowledge of BIM/3‑D modelling coordination.
