Early Years Teacher

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Early Years Teacher to join our primary department. The role involves delivering high‑quality instruction to young learners, creating a safe and stimulating environment, and fostering a love of learning.

Key responsibilities

• Set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
• Establish a safe, respectful classroom environment.
• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons that build on pupils’ prior knowledge.
• Assess, monitor and report on pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs, high ability, English as an additional language and disabilities.
• Promote high standards of literacy, articulacy and correct use of standard English.
• Reflect on teaching effectiveness and adapt approaches accordingly.
• Contribute to curriculum design, schemes of work and departmental resources.
• Assign homework and organise out‑of‑class activities to consolidate learning.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a recognised early years or primary education qualification.
• Strong knowledge of child development and the physical, social and intellectual stages of early learners.
• Understanding of the needs of pupils with SEN, EAL, high ability and disabilities.
• Commitment to high standards of behaviour, attendance and academic achievement.
• Ability to reflect on practice and continuously improve teaching.
