External Auditor – Full‑time, On‑site in Doha

About the role

JAR Accounting and Auditing is seeking a full‑time External Auditor to join its Doha office. The successful candidate will lead audit engagements for a diverse client base, ensuring compliance with international standards and delivering actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute external audit engagements, including risk assessment, control testing and substantive procedures.
• Review financial statements and verify supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Assess internal controls, identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
• Prepare clear audit working papers, reports and management letters.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and senior team members.
• Collaborate with tax and advisory teams when required.
• Stay up‑to‑date with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
• Support the development of junior auditors.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of auditing standards and IFRS.
• Experience planning and performing external audits, including risk assessment and documentation.
• Ability to analyse financial data and evaluate internal controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or CA qualification preferred.
• Prior experience in a public accounting or audit firm is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Qatar‑specific tax and regulatory environment is beneficial.

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit and accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Understanding of IFRS.
