Field Service Engineer – Symphony Plus

About the role

ABB is seeking a senior Field Service Engineer to deliver high‑complexity service work on Infi90 Symphony and System 800xA platforms for customers in the oil, gas, power and water sectors. The role is based onsite in Doha and reports to the Project Manager, AUEN.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and validate medium to high‑complexity service tasks according to ABB guidelines and customer orders.
• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring clear communication of timelines and expectations.
• Identify and develop new service business opportunities in collaboration with customers and internal ABB teams.
• Translate complex project requirements into ABB technical solutions and supervise site activities.
• Coach technicians and engineers, ensuring safe and effective execution of projects.
• Utilise service contracts efficiently and support major projects for Infi90/Symphony‑based System 800xA installations.

Required profile

• Graduate Engineer in Electrical, Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in customer support, project or service engineering on System 800xA/Infi90/Symphony platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware and software aspects of System 800xA control systems, including installation, commissioning and maintenance.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas, Power or Water industries is preferred.
