Head of Tax Compliance Risk Section

About the role

The Head of the Tax Compliance Risk Section leads the identification, assessment and mitigation of tax law compliance risks. Using data‑driven analytical methods, the role creates prioritized risk profiles that guide targeted compliance actions and audits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead proactive and reactive tax compliance risk analysis using statistical models, behavioral analysis and sector‑based analytics to detect patterns of non‑compliance.
• Monitor international taxation risks, reviewing bilateral and multilateral treaty analyses, treaty abuse, transfer pricing and other cross‑border structures.
• Oversee the preparation of periodic risk reports, gap assessments and financial impact estimates, ensuring clarity and quality.
• Develop recommendations for risk mitigation, including enhanced compliance measures, targeted audits and advanced analytical technologies.
• Coordinate with IT to design and improve analytical tools for risk identification and manage the selection of audit targets based on risk scores.
• Represent the Section in international forums and liaise with ministries and external stakeholders on tax compliance risk matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Business Administration or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum six years of experience in tax compliance risk, tax/financial analysis, risk management, tax audit or regulatory oversight.
• Strong knowledge of tax legislation, compliance risk methodologies and the application of data analytics to support regulatory decisions.
