IT Support Specialist (Oman)

About the role

The IT Support Specialist will deliver tier‑one technical assistance to end users, maintain hardware and software assets, and contribute to network design and implementation. This role ensures optimal system performance, data security, and smooth user experience across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide phone, email, and in‑person technical support to users.
• Install, modify, and perform minor repairs on computers and peripherals.
• Monitor hardware, software, and system performance metrics.
• Update software, upgrade hardware, and manage system patches.
• Assist in designing and implementing Wi‑Fi and LAN networks.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and support network connectivity.
• Consult with users to determine hardware/software needs and place orders.
• Train users on new software and tools.
• Test compatibility of new applications with existing systems.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle tracking.
• Set up user accounts, mailboxes, printers, and conference rooms.
• Provide remote support for off‑site or home‑based users.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and root‑cause analysis checklists.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT service support or a related role.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware, software systems, and IT service management.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues.
• Excellent communication skills for user training and support.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team.
