Laundry Team Leader

About the role

The Laundry Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laundry department in a luxury hotel environment. You will ensure that all laundry requests are fulfilled accurately, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and support a motivated team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of all items laundered and verify completion of departmental requests.
• Replenish laundry supplies and monitor chemical levels, reporting any pump or dispensing issues.
• Operate and monitor washing, dry‑cleaning, and drying equipment, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
• Identify stained or damaged items and determine appropriate actions (repair, spot‑treatment, rewash, or discard).
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling and motivating staff.
• Follow all company safety, security and quality policies; report hazards or incidents.
• Maintain professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets.
• Perform physical duties such as lifting items up to 25 lb, moving through confined spaces, and standing for extended periods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of related laundry or housekeeping experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, dry‑cleaners).
• Basic chemical handling and inventory management.
• Quality inspection and defect identification.
• Adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
• Physical stamina for repetitive lifting and movement.
