Lead Process Engineer

About the role

The Lead Process Engineer will direct the planning, execution, and technical assurance of process engineering activities for power generation projects. This senior position requires ownership of design, vendor coordination, constructability, safety, and commissioning across complex plant systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define priorities, schedules, resources and quality expectations for the process engineering scope.
• Perform heat and mass balance calculations, process simulations, and develop PFDs and P&IDs in line with project standards.
• Provide technical leadership for gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, cooling, water‑treatment, fuel‑handling and auxiliary utility systems.
• Prepare and review engineering requisitions, technical bids, vendor documents and acceptance criteria.
• Manage multidisciplinary interfaces with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, civil and construction teams.
• Lead constructability reviews, resolve field queries, non‑conformities and support startup activities.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables are checked, verified and compliant with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct HAZOP studies, process safety reviews, risk assessments and value‑engineering initiatives.
• Support pre‑commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, punch‑list closure and final hand‑over documentation.
• Mentor process engineers, allocate work, review deliverables and promote knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 + years of process engineering experience in design and project delivery.
• Progressive experience in combined‑cycle or thermal power plants, utility systems and EPC infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex technical interfaces.
