Marine Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Marine Electrical Engineer to join the engineering team at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara. The role involves maintaining and repairing all marine electrical systems on board our vessels, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of marine electrical systems on board vessels.
• Maintain and service generators, switchboards, batteries, shore power systems, navigation lights and control panels.
• Execute Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) for all electrical equipment.
• Inspect, test and maintain shore power supply pedestals.
• Prepare Scope of Work (SOW) for electrical sections prior to dry‑dock and supervise electrical work during dry‑dock.
• Conduct final inspections and certify completion before vessel re‑commissioning.
• Manage requisition of electrical spare parts and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Respond to marine electrical emergencies 24/7 and handle message‑box complaints.
• Represent the Marine Engineering department during authority inspections and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Proactive attitude with strong initiative and good judgement.
• Ability to work independently under supervision of Marine Supervisor and Maintenance Manager.
• Commitment to safety, including proper use of PPE and reporting of incidents.
