Mechanical Discipline Engineer – Large‑Scale Building Projects

About the role

The Discipline Engineer (Mechanical) will lead and coordinate all mechanical engineering activities for large‑scale building construction projects. This senior position ensures the successful design, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and other building services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering work for HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and related services.
• Review technical submissions and engineering designs for compliance with project specifications.
• Manage material approvals, submittals and ensure technical compliance.
• Oversee testing, commissioning and project handover activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Guarantee that all mechanical works meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
• Proven delivery of large‑scale building projects (residential, mixed‑use, institutional, etc.).
• Previous experience in Qatar preferred; GCC experience also considered.
• Valid MMUP/UPDA certification preferred for candidates in Qatar.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
