Mechanical Engineering Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Specialist to join our on‑shore operations in Qatar. The role supports mechanical engineering activities throughout the EPC and startup phases and ensures a smooth hand‑over to permanent asset management.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and support mechanical engineering tasks during EPC, commissioning, start‑up and hand‑over, ensuring safety, operability, reliability and maintainability.
• Conduct design reviews, develop work packs, and supervise modifications and maintenance activities.
• Lead failure analysis, advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) for assigned assets.
• Maintain issue registers, manage technical aspects of Management of Change, and mitigate new technology risks.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, consultants and service providers, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Provide technical input to other disciplines and support risk assessments (SBRAs, FRA) and safety workshops.
• Guide junior engineers in applying integrity and reliability systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in an oil‑and‑gas environment.
• Demonstrated specialist competency in mechanical technical areas.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities under pressure.
