Munitions Technician

About the role

The Munitions Technician is responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting and maintaining United States Air Force (USAF) munitions, munitions material handling equipment and supporting resources at the assigned site. The position operates the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS) and may supervise an Other Country National (OCN) workforce while ensuring compliance with the Performance Work Statement and ISO‑9001 quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and enforce all USAF and host‑nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards during all operations.
• Conduct munitions inspections, reconditioning, repairs and replacement of defective parts.
• Perform munitions storage actions in accordance with stringent explosives standards and maintain accurate warehouse inventories.
• Prepare, configure and load/unload munitions shipments for air, sea and surface transport.
• Operate and maintain light vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, manual hoists and other handling equipment.
• Inspect and operate metal‑strapping equipment, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors and power tools.
• Provide safety briefings, supervise crew activities and perform entry‑controller duties as required.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of USAF Supply and Technical Order systems or equivalent US service systems.
• Proficiency with personal computers for documentation and reporting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including standby duties, in both indoor and outdoor environments.
