Pharmacy Competency Consultant

About the role

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) is seeking a Pharmacy Competency Consultant to act as the subject‑matter expert for its Pharmacists Clinical Competency project within the Clinical Effectiveness Department. The role will ensure high‑quality competency evaluations, compliance with standards, and continuous improvement of pharmacy practice across PHCC facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice to the Director on clinical competency evaluations for pharmacists.
• Review, modify, and tailor evaluation checklists and tools to align with PHCC pharmacy practice.
• Plan, develop, analyze, and interpret competency evaluation data and present findings to the Director and the Clinical Competency Committee.
• Assist in selecting evaluators, preparing tools, and drafting evaluation reports.
• Lead discussions on checklist development, professional development plans, training monitoring, and status reporting.
• Participate in pharmacist competency assessments and deliver feedback for process improvement.
• Support the Director in creating action plans to meet applicable standards (AC, DHP, national requirements).
• Lead quality‑improvement (PDCA) activities to enhance evaluation processes.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, or health services.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical competency evaluation or quality improvement within a healthcare setting.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret evaluation data and generate actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for multi‑disciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to work under administrative supervision while maintaining professional growth.
