QA/QC Engineer – Onshore Projects (Qatar)

About the role

We are seeking a QA/QC Engineer to support the Operations Expansion Start‑Up (OES) department on onshore projects in Qatar. The role involves ensuring the quality of engineering, design, procurement, construction and installation activities for new equipment and modifications, in line with applicable codes, standards and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support in material, metallurgy, fabrication, welding, NDT and auditing for planned and unplanned equipment repairs and modifications.
• Coordinate QA/QC inspectors, contract‑hired engineers and NDT technicians to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Conduct metallurgical failure analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Review purchase requisitions, technical bids, and appoint third‑party inspection (TPI) inspectors.
• Analyse critical repair instructions, including WPS, PQR and QA/QC reports, and suggest alternative testing methods.
• Participate in startup readiness, FRA, EMOC and RCFA activities from a QA/QC perspective.
• Provide technical input for maintenance contract scopes, evaluate contractor documents and ensure QA/QC compliance.
• Perform technical audits of suppliers’ and contractors’ quality management systems and follow up on corrective actions.
• Promote quality awareness through training and procedure roll‑outs.
• Plan and execute inspection and certification of gas cylinders, portable tanks and lifting equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in QA/QC implementation for onshore/offshore facilities.
• Strong background in material, metallurgy, fabrication, welding, NDT and auditing.
• Familiarity with industry codes, standards, specifications and company QA/QC policies.
