Security Officer

About the role

Qatar Airways is seeking a Security Officer to oversee the 24‑hour operational security of Qatar Duty Free (QDF) at Doha Airport. The role ensures compliance with security protocols, protects assets, and supports staff across all QDF locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide security support and guidance for retail, F&B, warehouse and external QDF sites.
• Monitor security devices and equipment, implementing preventative strategies and policies.
• Coordinate alcohol and drug testing with QR Security and flag suspicious behaviour.
• Serve as the main operational contact for security reporting during each shift.
• Implement and enforce security standards, policies and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and physical examinations of stores and property.
• Communicate incidents, emergencies and security status to QDF management promptly.
• Collaborate with Stock Control to monitor and investigate stock losses.
• Oversee fraud management software checks and promote loss‑prevention culture.
• Liaise daily with the security service provider to ensure performance and KPI compliance.

Required profile

• Experience in security operations within an airport or retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, loss prevention and fraud management.
• Ability to conduct investigations and produce clear incident reports.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with staff and management.

Required skills

• Operation of CCTV and access‑control systems.
• Use of fraud management software.
• Conducting alcohol and drug testing procedures.
