Security Operations Officer

About the role

The Security Operations Officer oversees contract security supervisors and staff, ensuring daily activities align with operational plans and quality standards. This role supports stakeholders by compiling incident data, generating reports, and driving continuous improvement across airport security functions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise contract security supervisors and staff, directing daily tasks to meet quality and deployment targets.
• Communicate staff access definitions and requests to relevant stakeholders.
• Compile and analyse incident reports, daily shift reports, and statistical data for trend analysis and improvement projects.
• Assist in emergency response, including escorting vehicles, establishing cordons, and supporting the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
• Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols across passenger terminals, construction sites, apron, and perimeter areas.
• Perform drug and alcohol testing and enforce right‑of‑search policies as authorized.
• Respond to operational accidents or incidents on landside and airside, escalating reports to management promptly.
• Ensure transfer security checkpoints and hold baggage screening comply with local regulations and service level agreements.
• Oversee secondary screening duties to meet foreign authorities’ requirements and supervise staff screening and man‑guarding positions.
• Carry out additional department duties as directed by the Head of Department.

Required profile

• High school, vocational diploma, or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with similar experience.
• Proven experience in airport or aviation security operations.
• Ability to compile and present statistical data and reports.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction.
• Capability to respond effectively to emergencies and operational disruptions.
