Senior Application Engineer – AVEVA AIM

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Application Engineer to lead end‑to‑end AVEVA AIM implementations for our clients in the process industries. You will be responsible for delivering complete solutions from requirements definition through go‑live, ensuring data quality and integration with engineering and operational systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle AVEVA AIM deployments, including requirements gathering, environment setup, configuration, data loading, validation and go‑live.
• Design and configure class libraries, tagging and numbering rules, and asset breakdown structures aligned to standards such as CFIHOS, ISO 14224 and ISO 15926.
• Build and operate data ingestion pipelines for engineering deliverables (P&IDs, datasheets, 3D models, tag registers, document indexes) from EPC handover packages and legacy archives, with quality gating and reporting.
• Integrate AIM with 3D visualization tools (AVEVA E3D/PDMS, laser scan/point‑cloud data) to create navigable digital twins.
• Generate reports on data conformance, consistency and completeness using AVEVA BI Gateway.
• Configure interfaces to adjacent systems such as PI historians, SAP PM, Maximo, document management systems and AVEVA Unified Operations Center.
• Execute deployments in air‑gapped, firewalled environments typical of national oil companies, handling offline installation, patching and license management.
• Provide technical pre‑sales support, solution architecture, effort estimation and response to RFQs/RFPs.
• Maintain and evolve reusable practice assets, mentor junior engineers and support client teams toward self‑sufficiency.
• Define and monitor data quality KPIs and maintain configuration management and as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation or Computer Science).
• 8+ years of experience in engineering information management or industrial software delivery, with at least 3 years of hands‑on AVEVA AIM configuration and deployment.
• Proven delivery of at least two full‑cycle AVEVA AIM implementations in oil & gas, petrochemical or similar process industries.
• Working knowledge of engineering information standards such as CFIHOS, ISO 15926, ISO 14224 and EPC handover specifications.
• Experience with Smart Plant Engineering tools, AVEVA E3D/PDMS, laser‑scan integration and engineering document formats (DWG, DGN).
